Speaker Biography:

Prof. Dai Xiaofeng is a Distinguished Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor. He has served as Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Director of the Institute of Agro-Processing and the Feed Research Institute. He is a post scientist in the National Chinese Medicinal Materials Industry Technology System, and concurrently serves as a member of several high-level national committees, including the State Council Food and Nutrition Advisory Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture Science and Technology Committee, the National Health Commission Food Safety Committee, and the Central Military Commission Science and Technology Committee.

Prof. Dai has played a key role in the strategic planning and design of major national science and technology programs in agriculture, including the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), the National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program), high-tech demonstration projects, national engineering laboratories, major scientific projects, major agricultural science and technology projects, and agricultural innovation initiatives. He is also the original proposer of the National Agricultural Biosecurity System, the 1 Billion Mu High-Standard Farmland Initiative, and the National Strategic Grain Security Reserve Areas.

He has been recognized as an Outstanding Talent in National Agricultural Research, enjoys a special government allowance from the State Council, and has received 4 National Science and Technology Awards, 6 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, and 1 international award. He has published over 270 papers and holds more than 130 national invention patents. He has been honored as an “Advanced Individual of the National Eighth Five-Year Plan for Science and Technology,” received the National Medium- and Long-Term Science and Technology Development Strategic Research Contribution Award, and several other accolades from the Ministry of Agriculture.
