The Agricultural Information Institute, the Center for International Agricultural Research, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development signed a strategic cooperation agreement
On June 15th, the Agricultural Information Institute and the Center for International Agricultural Research, along with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), jointly held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in Beijing. Nie Fengying, Deputy Director of the Information Institute and Executive Deputy Director of Center for International Agricultural Research, and Matteo Marchisio, IFAD Representative in China, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. According to the agreement, both parties will participate in IFAD's existing and upcoming joint venture projects in China, both parties are mutually interested in promoting cooperation intentions at three levels: domestic theme projects related to China and projects funded by IFAD in other developing countries. Intended to achieve poverty reduction, rural revitalization, and comprehensive economic development in rural areas of China and other developing countries. During the signing ceremony, both parties reviewed their collaborative history and achievements in recent years. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on potential future collaboration, covering themes such as food security, climate change, green development, and rural revitalization. The discussions encompassed project monitoring and evaluation, knowledge creation and sharing, policy dialogue and engagement, advocacy initiatives, and capacity building, among other aspects. In the future, the primary objective is a "long-term, diversified" collaboration to jointly promote technological innovation in rural agriculture, enhance the rural economic system, and improve the living standards of vulnerable groups.
