On March 21^st 2017, Nie Fengying, Deputy Director of Center for International Agricultural Research(CIAR), received a delegation led by Oliver Fan, the International Cooperation Project Manager of Wagralim. Sun Junmao, Deputy Director of the Institute of Food and Nutrition Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as officials and experts in charge of achievement transformation at the Institute of Food Science and Technology of CAAS and CIAR attended the meeting.

Oliver Fan provided a detailed introduction to Wagralim's organizational structure, operational model, research areas, and collaborative projects. Both sides had in-depth discussions on the operation mechanism of the alliance, international hot issues in food nutrition and processing, and had exchanges experience on promoting production, education and research cooperation in the field of agricultural food industry.

Wagralim is an alliance that combines industry, academia, and research in the agricultural and food industry in the Walloon region of Belgium. It has over 200 enterprises and training member institutions. The main task of the alliance is to enhance the production efficiency and market competitiveness of nutritious and healthy food by promoting collaboration among alliance members. Wagralim has established extensive cooperation with European countries such as France, the Netherlands, Denmark, as well as Brazil and South Korea.
