The National Agricultural Science and Technology "Going Global" Alliance Capacity Building Training Workshop was successfully held
On November 29th, the Department of International Cooperation and the Center for International Agricultural Research of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) successfully hosted the "National Agricultural Science and Technology 'Going Global' Alliance Capacity Building Training Workshop" online. Hao Weiping, Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation of the CAAS, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Liu Ying, Academic Committee Member and Director of the Cooperation and Research Department of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies,Renmin University of China, Yu Haomiao, Deputy Director of the International Organization Division of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yao Chunsheng, Project Officer of the Global Environment Fund (GEF) at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Wang Xiusong, Researcher of the Liaison Office at the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Li Zhong, Project Officer of the Center for International Agricultural Research of the CAAS, were invited to give presentations.
The training aimed to strengthen the experience sharing and interactive cooperation in international cooperation and talent development among the members of the "Going Global" alliance. It aimed to enhance the participation of each member in international cooperation projects. The training received a positive response from 50 provincial and municipal alliance member units, and a total of more than 330 representatives from universities, enterprises, and research institutions participated in the training online. The response was enthusiastic. Hao Weiping pointed out that the organization of this capacity-building training workshop was in response to the needs of alliance member units. By leveraging the international cooperation network and resources of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the training aimed to promote practical collaboration among member units of the national agricultural science and technology "Going Global" alliance. The goal is to jointly contribute to the internationalization of agricultural science and technology by working together on shared objectives. The Technical Cooperation Program (TCP) is a project of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) provided to member countries in response to their requests, offering specialized knowledge and technical expertise. The TCP projects adhere to approved standards, emphasize the sustainability of aid provision, and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals. Currently, TCP projects mainly focus on demonstrating and promoting practical green agricultural technologies. LI Zhong from the Center for International Agricultural Research shared the experience of project management in international cooperation projects at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He provided detailed information on various stages of the project, including application, execution, management, and summarization, covering resources, processes, mechanisms, and tools. He expressed the expectation for further strengthened communication among alliance member units to consistently improve and excel in various international cooperation projects.
