The opening ceremony of the Seminar on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine was held in Lanzhou
On the 6th, the opening ceremony of the Seminar on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine was held in Lanzhou, Gansu. The event was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), MOFCOM, and co-hosted by the Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS, Center for International Agricultural Research of CAAS, Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute of CAAS, Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of CAAS, and Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of CAAS. Twenty-three agricultural officials and technical experts from five countries, including the Republic of Cuba, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Mali, and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, participated in this training.
The training class will systematically introduce the theoretical system, technical methods, and clinical practices of veterinary medicine in China. It will focus on the application experiences of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine in areas such as animal disease prevention and control, livestock management, and alternative medications, showcasing its unique advantages in improving the health of livestock and poultry and promoting sustainable and eco-friendly farming. Experts from Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute of CAAS, Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of CAAS, Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of CAAS, and other institutions have been invited to conduct specialized lectures. The trainees will also visit Chinese medicine education institutions, national veterinary key laboratories, and relevant technology transfer enterprises. This will provide an in-depth understanding of the development status and promotion pathways of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine within China's agricultural science and technology system, promote the implementation of valuable experiences and technologies in veterinary medicine in more developing countries, and provide strong scientific and technological support for global animal disease prevention and control and biosecurity systems.
The opening ceremony was attended by Zhu Qiyun, Deputy Director General of Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Dai Xin, Deputy Director General of Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS / Deputy Director of Center for International Agricultural Research of CAAS; Ren Fukang, Former Deputy Director of the Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce; and Li Jianxi, Deputy Director of Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of CAAS, among others.
