Youth Hackathon GLCA 2023 | Public Training Session
From September 12th to 13th, CIAR conducted the online public training session for the 2nd edition of the Youth Hackathon GLCA (2023 Youth Hackathon GLCA). The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Director Zhai Lin of the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS and Dr. Dong Le, an official from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) resident office in China.
Trainers from international organizations, research institutions, and enterprises such as FAO, World Resources Institute (WRI), Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), Asia-Pacific Youth Model APEC Conference, CIAR, Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture of CAAS, Nanjing Institute for Agricultural Mechanization, Chinese Academy of Forestry, and Bai Guan Technology introduced the current global status and policies of green and low-carbon agriculture. They covered research progress in green and low-carbon agriculture machinery, forestry, animal husbandry, agricultural waste treatment, water resource utilization, and more.
Furthermore, the training mentors received positive feedback for providing courses on industry incubation logic and business presentations for participating teams. The two-day public training aimed to offer teams shortlisted after the first round of screening an opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas with industry experts and scholars, optimize their project proposals, and prepare for the upcoming competition stages.
