The Center for International Agriculture Research organized the Agricultural Science and Technology "Going Out" Collaborative Innovation Lead Project Promotion Meeting
On June 8, the Center for International Agriculture Research took the lead in organizing a work promotion meeting for the "Going Global" collaborative innovation mission of agricultural science and technology "FAO-CAAS Regional Innovation Platform Construction" and "Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration in Key Countries in China and Africa" Project Work Promotion Meeting to discuss under the new coronavirus epidemic situation how to carry out international cooperation and collaborative innovation tasks. Vice President Sun Tan attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhang Yahui, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS, attended the meeting.
Vice President Sun Tan requested that while completing the project targets, we should broaden our thinking and make international cooperation the main force driving the leap-forward development of agricultural science and technology innovation. The focus of international cooperation work should focus on solving core issues of scientific and technological innovation through international cooperation platforms; while striving for an increase in cooperation resources, integrate and consolidate existing stocks; at the same time, using projects as the starting point, relying on the the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS and the Center for International Agriculture Research in the project effectively serve the spirit of the "three orientations" and "two first-class" instructions put forward by General Secretary Xi to our institute, and serve the national diplomatic strategy and the "going out" of agriculture.
Each unit responsible for the project reported on the progress of the project in the first half of the year and the next work plan, and fully listened to the opinions of the leaders of the Department of International Cooperation on how to further promote the implementation of international cooperation. More than 40 people from relevant units such as the Institute of Crop Sciences, Institute of Plant Protection, Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, Institute of Apicultural Research, Biotechnology Research Institute, Institute of Agricultual Resources and Regional Planning, Agriculture Information Institute, Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, and Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs participated in online and offline exchanges and discussions.
