The Northeast Asia Institute of Agricultural and Rural Development was established in Inner Mongolia Agricultural University
In order to strengthen the research on agricultural and rural development for Belt and Road "countries, the Center for International Agricultural Research of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS), Inner Mongolia Minzu University and Inner Mongolia Agricultural University jointly initiated the establishment of the" Northeast Asia Institute of Agricultural and Rural Development ". On March 6,2019, the four-party coordination meeting was held at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and the representatives of the four parties signed the Cooperation Agreement on Jointly Building the Northeast Asian Agricultural and Rural Development Research Institute. President of University of Life Sciences of Mongolia and Ruga, Vice President of Inner Mongolia Minzu University attended the signing ceremony.

The institute is committed to research and capacity building in land reform and policy, agricultural transformation and structural adjustment, rural system reform, food security and other aspects, to improve the livelihood level of small farmers and rural development, and to promote the sustainable and inclusive economic growth of agriculture and agri-enterprises in rural areas. The institute will start with China and Mongolia and have a long-term goal to become a multilateral cooperation think tank covering Russia, South Korea, Japan and other countries.
In 2018, the Center for International Agricultural Researchof the CAAS signed a bilateral cooperation agreement with the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS)."
