International Agricultural Research training and seminar was held in Agricultural Information Institute
On September 27, 2018, the Center for International Agricultural Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) organized a training and seminar on International Agricultural Research in Beijing. The event was designed to enhance the monitoring capabilities of country-specific information, elevate the level of International Agricultural Research, and release high-quality think tank reports. The seminar was presided over by Dr. Nie Fengying, Vice Director of the Center for International Agricultural Research and Deputy Director of the Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS.
The training seminar focused on the key countries, varieties, and hot topics in current International Agricultural Research. It delved into the approaches for researching countries and overseas varieties, emphasizing the need to highlight the position of serving the major strategies of the country and the "going global" initiatives of enterprises. Discussions covered various aspects such as the design of research content, data information acquisition, and writing standards. Researchers including Dr. Zhang Li and Associate Researcher Zhu Zengyong from the Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS, as well as Dr. Xi Yinsheng and Associate Researcher Jiang Nan from the Rural Economic Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, shared their experiences in writing country reports, variety reports, and policy reports. During the seminar, Ms. Xu Dingna from the China Agricultural Science and Technology Press provided a detailed interpretation of the editorial standards for writing reports in the think tank series.
Vice Director, Nie Fengying, emphasized that the International Agricultural Research has established good collaborative mechanisms. In the future, we need to continue to strengthen innovation, explore more efficient project operation mechanisms, and focus on quality orientation to continually enhance the research capabilities and information service support role of the Center for International Agricultural Research.
The training seminar, held during the Second International Agricultural Research Conference, was also an important measure for the Center for International Agricultural Research to strengthen the construction of the International Agricultural Research talent team. Through training and discussions, relevant researchers gained a more accurate understanding of research topics, effectively improved their professional skills, expanded their horizons and thinking, and contributed to enhancing the overall quality level of International Agricultural Research reports. This initiative holds significant importance for cultivating a professional and efficient International Agricultural Research talent team.
Over 30 researchers from institutions such as the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xinjiang Academy of Animal Science, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, and Inner Mongolia Agricultural University participated in the meeting.
