The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Food and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations have actively promoted the cooperative project.
In order to comprehensively evaluate the COVID-19 pandemic's effects on the market for agricultural products, farmers' livelihoods, and food security, and ensure the collaboration effort with FAO proceeds without any problems, on the afternoon of April 27, the Agricultural Information Institute of the CAAS and its partner Huazhong Agricultural University convened an online meeting Attend seminars. The seminar conducted detailed discussions on the project content, preliminary conclusions of the epidemic survey, sampling and questionnaires, and other issues, and formed a relatively consistent plan and opinions. Nine experts and scholars from the Macro Agriculture Research Institute of Huazhong Agricultural University, the College of Economics and Management of Huazhong Agricultural University, and the Agricultural Information Institute of the CAAS participated in the seminar. This seminar made full use of the advantages of international and domestic experts to lay the foundation for carrying out pragmatic impact assessment research based on standardized sampling surveys, while providing a reference for the Chinese government and the international community.
At the seminar, Vice President Xiong Hang and Dr. Jin Ling of the Macro Agriculture Research Institute of Huazhong Agricultural University team gave a detailed introduction to the fixed observation points and the sampling and conclusions of the epidemic research. The team from the Agricultural Information Institute of the CAAS gave a detailed introduction to the project background, discussion objectives and sampling. Relevant problems were actively explored by both parties.
