CIAR Hosted 2023 APEC Seminar: Promoting Agricultural and Rural Development for Shared Prosperity in the Asia-Pacific Region
On July 18, CIAR hosted the 2023 APEC Seminar: Promoting Agricultural and Rural Development for Shared Prosperity online. The conference shared China's rural poverty alleviation experience and the concept of shared prosperity, aiming to facilitate the exchange of poverty alleviation experiences in the Asia-Pacific region. Experts, scholars, and business leaders from various Asia-Pacific countries, including China, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Korea, participated.
Liu Wenbo, Director of the International Organizations Division of the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS, attended the event and delivered a speech. He emphasized that food security has always been a global focus. Facing various challenges in today's international community, China, as one of the countries actively influencing the Asia-Pacific region, is committed to advancing food security and promoting agricultural and rural development in the region.
During the seminar, representatives from AII, CIAR, and Alibaba Group discussed topics related to the current state of rural development in China, poverty alleviation experiences, and e-commerce initiatives for poverty reduction.
