On the morning of September 28, 2018, Dr. Nie Fengying, Vice Director of the Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS and Deputy Director of the Center for International Agricultural Research, met with the visiting delegation from the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), led by Dr. Yemi Akinbamijo, Executive Director of FARA. The discussions revolved around the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the future specifics of cooperation.

Dr. Yemi Akinbamijo introduced the recent main work of FARA and the future direction of collaboration between the two parties. The parties exchanged information on the progress of ongoing collaborative projects, discussed the details of the MOU document and the signing schedule, and deliberated on the mechanisms and key focus areas for further collaboration in Sino-African agricultural technology transfer. The collaboration between the two parties will significantly boost South-South cooperation in the field of agricultural technology transfer between China and Africa.

Dr. Aggrey Agumya, Director of Partnership and Communication Department in FARA, Dr. Abdulrazak Ibrahim, Officer for Capacity Building and External Relations, Mr. Kofi K. Acquaye, Regional Coordinator for YPARD Africa, as well as Ms. Wang Jing from the Center for International Agricultural Research's office and relevant researchers participated in the discussions.
