The Center for International Agricultural Research signed cooperation agreements with the University of Nottingham and the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences
On November 12, the 6th Global Forum of Leaders for Agricultural Science and Technology(GLAST-2019) side event - International Poverty Reduction and Rural Revitalization Experience Exchange Seminar was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. At the meeting, the Center for International Agricultural Research signed cooperation memorandums with the University of Nottingham and the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences respectively.
According to the cooperation memorandum, the Center for International Agricultural Research and the University of Nottingham will cooperate in five aspects: collaboratively utilizing the platforms of both parties to promote project design and cooperation applications in areas of mutual interest; enhancing South-South cooperation and international cooperation in China Cooperation in the social network of international students and other areas agreed upon by both parties; jointly organize international conferences to promote the spread of sustainable agricultural research and innovation between China, the UK and countries along the “Belt and Road”; carry out human resources exchanges and cooperation, such as short-term training, exchange of visiting scholars, Joint publication and publication, etc.; jointly seek resources from the UK, China, bilateral and multilateral institutions to fund cooperative activities.
The Center for International Agricultural Research and the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences will cooperate to establish the Southwest Agricultural and Rural Think Tank Center of the Center for International Agricultural Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It mainly carries out policy and strategic research based on surveys and data, comprehensively and systematically studies major overall and strategic issues in the process of agricultural and rural development in Southwest China, and creates an international, open and collaborative think tank research platform for Southwest agriculture and rural areas. Provide theoretical support, scientific and technological support and decision-making consultation for major decisions in the implementation of the Southwest Rural Revitalization Strategy.
Nie Fengying, executive deputy director of the Center for International Agricultural Research and deputy director of the Agricultural Information Institute of the CAAS, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Richard Masterman, associate vice-president of the University of Nottingham, and Zhang Xiong, vice-president of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
