1. Training Objectives
Participants will be able to understand China’s food security strategy and learn about China’s advanced technological achievements and management experience in grain loss reduction, quality assurance, quality and nutrition maintenance, modern harvesting, storage and logistics, monitoring and early warning, value-added processing and comprehensive utilization. Through the training, participants will be able to make recommendations on how to promote food loss reduction and high-value utilization of by-products in their own countries based on what they have learned based on the current development of the agricultural processing industry in their own countries.
2. Training Content
(1) Public courses: Overview of China’s national conditions, current macroeconomic situation and policy directions, rural and agricultural development under reform, the Belt and Road Initiative and implementation measures, and introduction to China’s experience in poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.
(2) Professional courses: China’s food security strategy, the status quo and development of China’s agricultural products processing and high-value utilization of by-products, thematic training on food loss reduction technology (divided into three topics: Cereals and oils, fruits and vegetables, and livestock products), thematic training on comprehensive utilization of agricultural products by-products (divided into three topics: Cereals and oils, fruits and vegetables, and livestock products), thematic training on agricultural products quality assurance and monitoring and early warning technology, thematic training on the quality maintenance and nutrition of characteristic agricultural products, thematic training on agricultural products preservation, storage and logistics technology, thematic training on agricultural products processing equipment research and development and demonstration, thematic training on future food, and industrial development and practice of China’s rural revitalization.
(3) Thematic seminars and exchange sessions: Exchanges among participants and between participants and lecturing experts on the training content, and exchanges on specific topics for each participant concerning the actual situation in their country.
(4) Virtual tours: Large agricultural product processing enterprises, agricultural product storage and logistics bases, agricultural product processing equipment workshops, etc.
