  • 简介

During the next 20 years, the world’s population will grow to more than eight billion. How will they all be fed? More than 180 participants from all over the world from science, business, politics and society discussed this issue. How can availability, access and consumption of food be secured? Robert S. Lawrence of Johns Hopkins University in his opening remarks stressed: “Hunger is not a problem of too little produced food. Rather, it is a problem caused by poverty, the lack of investments in agriculture and infrastructure, the climate and weather, food waste, wars, and unstable markets.“
Young scientists from China, Switzerland, Kenya, and the United States gave brief presentations on the basics of food security in their country.
